Hamble Week Golf Open

Pie Eating Competition

After the success of last year's event, we'll be holding the Pie Eating Competition again on Thursday night.  Who ate all the pies?  The winner!

The Big Movie

Dirty DancingFriday night's big event, it's back, the open air movie in the car park!  First there was Mama Mia!, last year it was Grease, this year's Big Movie is Dirty Dancing! Come on down to the car park on the hard, get something fun to eat and soak up the atmosphere in one of everyone's favourite events!

Crabbing Competition

On Saturday we'll be running the children's crabbing competition off the hard, which is always popular.  Get down early to get your entry, buckets and crabbing kits will be available again.  Timing dependent on the tides

Fireworks

FireworkOn the Saturday evening, our traditional fireworks extravaganza will be held on the foreshore.  We'll be using our usual display coordinator, Selstar and the beach bar will be well and truly open!  A spectacular event for all the family as ever and enormously popular, so get down early to pick your viewing spot and get your refreshments in.  Bring your best "Ooooh"s and "Aaaah"s!

 
Electric Parade

To officially open events in 2011, the children of the Sports College, Primary School and Playschool will be holding a parade down the High Street.  This year's theme is Light, and it promises to be an absolutely spectacular display with huge illuminated features.  It will start at 6:30pm and follow a route down the High Street and onto the hard.

Band Night

On Thursday night we'll be having a musical extravaganza down on the hard, kicking off with the Battle of the Bands at 7pm, where local bands compete for the top slot.  Following on from the Pie Eating competition, we'll have 71 Chain playing out the evening from 9pm.

Gasoline AlleyOn Friday Night, we've got a great band booked, the fabulous Gasoline Alley.  Rocking out covers of songs from bands such as Pink Floyd, Queen, Primal Scream, Oasis, The Rolling Stones, The Killers and many more it'll be a great night of music, so get your dancing shoes on, get down to the hard, get on down and party hard!

Western Rodeo

On Saturday afternoon, we'll have a western style rodeo event down on the hard from 11am until 3:30pm.  There will be fun for all the family including horseshoe throwing, cactus lassooing, a shootout event and a rodeo bull ride!  Get your ten gallon hats out and compete for a place on the leaderboard or just play the rodeo clown!  Yee-ha!

Come and Get Wet

Come and Get WetOn Saturday, we'll be running the ever-popular Come and Get Wet event in association with Hamble Sea Scouts.  A Fun and safe opportunity for children to come and try a variety of aquatic activities on the Hamble.  Life jackets available, but make sure children come dressed ready to get wet!

St. Andrews Pipe Band March

Pipe BandTo kick off the events of Saturday evening, our own St. Andrews Pipe Band will lead the march from St. Andrews Church, down the high street to the hard prior to the fireworks display.  Led by Pipe Major David Pickworth, the Pipe Band will again be playing many of the bagpipe favourites we've come to know and love, stopping off at various points along the way for the crowds to enjoy the show.

Sunday Fun Day

On Sunday, we're planning the traditional children's fun day.  There will be a clown down on the hard, a large inflatable attraction and a competitive event.  Watch this space for details!
